Last night for FHE we talked about goals
Last night we learned that every good goal setter from Our Savior on down has done a few key things in order to accomplish those goals.
One of those things is to involve others, "Nobody goes through life alone. Establish your own "Personal Board of directors", people whose wisdom, knowledge and character you respect to help you achieve your goals."
Today I search for a board of directors. There are so many of you out there who, whether you know it or not, inspire me by your abilities, your kind words, your attitudes and your strength.
I have a plan.
I am GREAT at setting goals, but horrible at accomplishing them if they're hard. So today I'd like to share with you a couple of my goals and any of you out there who feel like you might be able to help me give me a shout out.
The first goal I'd like to meet is to get in shape. I haven't been in shape since high school, and it was easy for me then because I had a team and a coach who relied on me and checked up on me. My desire to get in shape reaches far beyond looking great in a swimming suit. My doctors keep telling me that my body will never get pregnant if I don't exercise regularly and so it is a deep desire and one that has special meaning to me, but I struggle. I wish I had the self integrity to do what I tell myself I'm going to do, but I need help. So, I've seen so many of you out there who are avid exercisers. Lots of you amazing women out there are on league teams, or are training for marathons or have done triathlons or are morning runners. I'd love to talk to you. I want to know what keeps you going, where you started, and what you do to keep in check with yourself. I need a board of directors, or just one director. If any of you are looking for a summer project, I'd volunteer to be it. I want somebody to call me and ask me if I've exercised today, or I'd love somebody to say "be at my house every day at 6 I'm going to kick your trash today", but I really can't do this alone. So, if any of you amazing, regular exercising women out there would like to help me, I would be forever grateful.
Side note, I've tried a billion times to exercise with my sweet husband but he is always waiting on me to catch up and I always feel like that's so unfair to him, and hard on me!! :)
Moving On.
Today I search for the words to express my gratitude.
For my family. We just had a family reunion and the love, the fun and the testimonies that were shared up there have made lasting impressions on my heart.
For those of you who share your children with us. Finding out that doctors believe we probably won't ever have children has made me so much more grateful for the sweet little spirits that are in this world and to those of you who share your sweet children with us, we are grateful. Even if it's just to run to the store, or to go to the temple, or even if it's a whole weekend away, it is a treasured experience for us to associate with those special spirits that Heavenly Father has sent down to this earth.
For the scriptures. There is an answer to everything in there. There are stories in there of people who have gone through everything we go through and that is miraculous to me.
Today I search for somebody to help encourage me to do my part in getting healthy so Heavenly Father can do His part.
Today I search for the words to tell you all how grateful I am for the blessings that come from The Gospel, but the words struggle to come.
Thanks to the Lowes and the Hunts for sharing your little slices of heaven with us! We had a blast!
