Today I felt my grandma

Today I felt crafty

Today I went to a store searching for crafty tools

Today I smelled a smell, a familiar smell

Today I cried

Today I remembered:

~pots of soup just for me
~honey nut cheerios in a Swan's ice cream tub
~hugs and kisses
~her laugh
~the white explorer full of empty milk jugs
~quilts
~sweet yet firm counsel
~beautifully matching pant suits
~that old rocker
~her aprons

Today I hurt for my mother

Today I was grateful for my mother

Today through the sweet spirit, lovely smells, the sight of a cutting board and the yearning for a hug, I felt my grandma

Thanks Ash. I love that you mentioned the empty milk jugs. Somedays it seems like she's right there doesn't it?

I was in full tears missing her just the other night. Sometimes I wonder if I just made her up, could I have possibly been lucky enough to have HER for MY grandma? Then I see her face, hear her laugh and remember that we WERE lucky enough and someday we really do get to see her again!! Its going to rock!!!!! I seriously miss her like crazy. There was no one else like her.

Crying my eyes out. Pregnancy makes it worse I think. Isn't it funny how a smell can bring her back? There are a couple of those smells that get me every once in awhile. Thanks for that post. I needed a good cry.

Hi, Ashley it's Jill "Rhoton". I love that you wrote all of that. I know she wasn't my grandma but somedays it felt like it. I loved when she would hug me and say, "oh honey!"...she was a sweet, sweet lady!:)
